1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi, my name is Mark, and I am the owner and lead photographer at Dream In Blue Photography. I am a multi-award-winning architect and designer. I’ve been internationally published, and my work has been shown in numerous galleries. Creativity is my life, and I enjoy any artistic expression or experience. I cherish learning and exploring all things creative!
Passion has been a fundamental part of my life for as long as I can remember. My creative interests started at an early age and led me to pursue architecture as a profession. After 2 degrees and work experience, I felt too limited by the profession and started my own creative agency. There, I was able to explore a variety of outlets, including branding, web design, video, and photography.
Photography began as a small piece of the agency’s services, but the fire had started, a passion that continued to grow and grow. I did not want to limit my creativity to client work and explored several avenues, ranging from fashion to beauty to landscape. Eventually, after a decade of exploration and honing my skills, a clear direction was formed.
That direction was storytelling. More specifically, telling a personal, intimate story that captures the unique beauty within each of us and brings it to life.
There is so much beauty in all shapes, sizes, colors, and angles to celebrate. Bringing this unique beauty to life in all of us, through my lens and lights, is extremely fulfilling. There is nothing more gratifying than sharing someone’s joy throughout this experience – from the nervous excitement that can precede the shot, through the experience of posing and expressing, to the final images and presentation.
We are all beautiful and unique. Celebrating this is nothing short of amazing!
2. What is your experience shooting boudoir?
I have been a photographer for over 16 years. I began exploring every type of photography I could find. This included fashion, weddings, headshots, commercial, and event photography. Learning fuels my passion!
After exploring for several years, it became apparent that these types of photography were fairly transactional - people show up, do their thing, everyone goes home, over and done. Nothing had a lasting effect. None of these had the depth that I sought.
When I learned about boudoir photography and how empowering it can be, how it has true depth and impact, I felt inspired and knew this is the direction I wanted to pursue.
I spent years working with friends and models to gain the experience and skillset that I feel is necessary to be a professional. I’ve enjoyed every minute! I continually look for things to learn and explore, always working to improve my photography and the experience Dream In Blue Photography provides.

3. Where will the photo shoot take place?
Dream In Blue Photography's studio is just outside of downtown Denver.
4. How should customers prepare for the Boudoir photo shoot?
Preparing for your shoot is very important. I will provide detailed guides that go over every step leading up to your session.
Your Story, Your Why - Inspiration
What inspired you to book a session? What is your story? Let's start with what brought you here. It might be a milestone in life, a celebration of a certain age, or entering a new chapter in your life.
Clothing + Accessories - A variety of outfits ensures a wide range of photographs. Fit is the most important component.
Skin, Hair, Nails - Take care of yourself leading up to the shoot. It's very important that you eat normally and stay hydrated. Your skin will thank you, and you'll be sure to glow in the photographs!

5. Will there be a hairstylist and make-up artist?
Yes!! Dream In Blue Photography's professional hair and makeup are a vital component. Every day makeup might look great at home/work/out on the town, but makeup for photography requires the skillset of a seasoned professional. My hair and makeup artist will help you choose what style works with you and your clothing choices. You'll look and feel AMAZING!!
6. What do you do to make your customers feel comfortable for the shoot?
Communication. It all begins with the consultation call, where we'll start to get to know each other. Leading up to the session, I will provide you with details guides, answers to questions, and be available for any questions or thoughts you would like to discuss via calls, texts, or emails - whatever is your preference.
At the session, you will be met outside and led into the studio. You'll be greeted with a welcome message, snacks, and beverages. Your music selection will be playing. You, my makeup artist, and I will discuss your vision for the session, look over outfits, and settle in for the wonderful journey to come!
I will guide you through each step, demonstrate each pose, and give you plenty of guidance throughout the session. We'll laugh and chat about little things and big things! It will be so much fun, you'll forget you were ever nervous!

7. Are pictures printed or do you provide a digital file?
Yes :-) Both. All of the above!
There are numerous options, including prints, albums, wall art, digital collections, and fun items like playing cards and retro viewfinders. Dream In Blue Photography offers a variety of collections, most include an album and digital files.
8. What happens on the day?
My hair and makeup artist and I will be there to welcome you. You will be met outside and led into Dream In Blue Photography's studio. You'll be greeted with a welcome message, snacks, and beverages. Your music selection will be playing. You, my makeup artist, and I will discuss your vision for the session, look over outfits, and settle in for the wonderful journey to come!

9. Where will the photographs be used?
This is entirely up to you. Your comfort is paramount. Your choice of whether they are private forever, or shown in Dream In Blue Photography's portfolio is 100% yours. Respect, transparency, and communication are qualities that I feel are vital. If you prefer not to have your photos shown, they will never, ever be seen by another human. Never. Photos are stored on secure computers and never seen outside of the studio (no working in a coffee shop!). If you would enjoy seeing them on social media, wonderful, but the choice is always yours and yours alone.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
If a client wishes to reschedule, the retainer shall be applied to the new date. We ask for at least a 7 day notice.
