1. Introduction: What's your story?
I did not stumble into boudoir photography. I was called to it — by a moment, years ago, when I picked up a camera and realized that what I truly wanted to photograph was not a landscape or a skyline, but the landscape of a woman's face the moment she stops hiding. That flicker of recognition. That quiet revolution. I have dedicated 14 years to perfecting every element of the experience that leads to it.
My approach to Colorado Springs boudoir photography is built on a foundation of radical inclusivity and technical mastery. I have worked with clients of every age — from women in their 20s stepping into their power for the first time, to women in their 60s and 70s who have earned every extraordinary line on their faces and are finally ready to celebrate them. I am a specialist in posing for all body types, in lighting that flatters every skin tone, and in the particular alchemy of creating an environment so safe and celebratory that even the most camera-shy client forgets she ever felt nervous.
2. What is your experience shooting boudoir?
I've spent 14 years photographing boudoir, working with women of every age, size, and background — from women in their 20s stepping into their power for the first time, to women in their 60s and 70s finally ready to celebrate every line they've earned. My focus has always been the same: creating a space safe enough that even the most camera-shy client forgets she was ever nervous. I'm a member of the PPCGS Photography Guild, the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and the Association of International Boudoir Photographers (AIBP).
3. Where will the photo shoot take place?
Your session takes place in our private, discreet studio at 3100 N. Academy Blvd. in Colorado Springs — a safe, judgment-free space dedicated entirely to boudoir photography, with no public exposure and no one present who isn't part of your experience.
4. How should customers prepare for the Boudoir photo shoot?
Come with an open mind and leave the pressure at the door — we'll guide you through everything else. In the days before your session, avoid new skincare products or a fresh sunburn, stay hydrated, and get a good night's sleep. We'll send you a full prep guide beforehand covering what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect, so you'll feel confident and ready by the time you walk through our door.
5. Will there be a hairstylist and make-up artist?
Our professional makeup artist is a true pro at hair and makeup for every skin tone and hair type — and the transformation is incredible to watch. You'll still look like you, just the most radiant, camera-ready version of yourself!
6. What do you do to make your customers feel comfortable for the shoot?
At Colorado Springs Boudoir, your comfort, privacy, and peace of mind are our absolute top priorities. We know that walking through the door takes courage, so we have designed an entirely full-service, stress-free experience to make you feel completely at ease:
No Experience Necessary : We do not shoot professional models; we work with everyday women of every age, shape, and size.
The Two-Person Team Approach: You are never left to figure anything out alone. Our stylist, Christi, takes care of your initial wardrobe styling, and our professional makeup artist pampers you with a full makeover and hair styling to build your confidence before you ever step in front of the lens.
Fully Guided Posing: Once the shoot begins, our photographer, James, directs every single movement, expression, and pose. We guide you step-by-step at your own pace, using flattering lighting and angles tailored specifically to your body type.
A Safe, Private Space : Our studio on N. Academy Blvd. is a completely private, safe, and celebratory environment where your comfort dictates the pace of the day.
Complete Preparation: Long before your shoot, we send you detailed guides on exactly what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect so there are no surprises or nerves on the day of your session.
7. Are pictures printed or do you provide a digital file?
Our packages are meticulously curated with the luxury keepsakes women love most, including handcrafted photo albums, stunning wall art, and our signature luxury folio boxes.
Around two weeks after your photoshoot, you will return to our private studio for an exciting, in-person Photo Reveal and Ordering Session. You will sit down to view your custom image slideshow, and you will choose exactly what you want to purchase at that time.
Every single print product, album, and heirloom piece is custom-ordered through our vetted, elite professional labs. James personally inspects every single item for absolute perfection before boutique-wrapping it for your studio pickup. Your corresponding digital images are delivered simultaneously via a secure, private gallery download.
8. What happens on the day?
On the day of your session, your experience is entirely full-service, stress-free, and designed to make you feel like an absolute star. Here is exactly what happens when you arrive at our private studio:
Professional Hair & Makeup Your day begins with a complete pampering session. Our elite, professional stylists—who have worked with iconic global brands like Playboy Studios and Guess—will craft a flawless look that is both timeless and camera-ready.
Wardrobe Selection & The Designer Trunk Next, we will review the outfits you brought and raid our exclusive, designer wardrobe trunk. This unique trunk features hand-selected, high-end pieces you won't find anywhere else, perfectly curated to flatter your body.
The Fully Guided Photo Session Once you are styled, the creative magic begins. James will guide you through the entire photo experience, showing you exactly how to pose and what expressions to make. Any initial nerves will quickly melt away after you see the first few incredible, unedited shots on the back of the camera. By the end of the shoot, you will feel entirely relaxed, empowered, and like you just walked off an editorial magazine cover.
9. Where will the photographs be used?
Your privacy, comfort, and peace of mind are our absolute top priorities. We never share, post, or use any of your images without your explicit written consent and a signed model release, ensuring you retain total control over your portraits. Our transparent privacy policy is clearly detailed on our website, reviewed thoroughly during your booking process, and confirmed once more at your private Photo Reveal session. Only if you choose to grant permission, your stunning images may be used on our website, social media pages, or for local promotions like bridal fairs. Clients who wish to inspire other everyday women can even opt to have their portraits showcased as luxury, printed wall art displays inside our private studio.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
To book your luxury experience, a session retainer fee is required at the time of scheduling, with the exact amount varying depending on the custom experience tier you choose. We want you to feel entirely confident in your investment, which is why we offer a 100% risk-free booking window: if you change your mind for any reason within one week of booking, you will receive a full, no-questions-asked refund. Once that one-week grace period passes and your session date is officially locked into our studio calendar, the retainer fee becomes non-refundable to protect the dedicated time set aside exclusively for you.
